The Birkenstock shoes began to show significant signs of wear within one month. The rubber around the insole began to separate and eventually the sole of the shoe began to separate entirely from the shoe.

Approximately six months ago I purchased a pair of running shoes, a pair of Birkenstock shoes, and a custom made insole. Approximate purchase price of the entire order was $500.
I went to the store today to discuss the defect. The manager told me the problem was "sweat." He explained this was the reason for the shoe falling apart. I explained that I was not interested in the etiology, rather wanted to determine if the shoe was under warranty or if some type of replacement could be offered. This is clearly a defective shoe as I have only heard good things about Birkenstock in the past.
Obviously, the problem is with the shoe itself however, you would expect the retailer to standby the products for which they sell.
The manager was somewhat dismissive and did not want to hear any of my concerns. I will replace the shoe and not be returning to the store as I feel they could've handled the matter much better. If you spend $100 on a pair of new balance shoes and only get six months out of them, that's one thing. If you spend approximately $230 on a pair of Birkenstock shoes, you should expect them to last longer than six months and I I would expect the retailer to standby the shoes they sell.
Michael was extremely helpful in the selection of my new Birkenstock, highly recommend these guys if you are looking for quality service and the perfect fit!

Very trustworthy. I have a specific shoe need and size and when I visited them they didn't have the size in the brand I needed. Instead of trying to sell me another brand, they recommended another store that they knew would have it. When I need running shoes again I will definitely check with them first, and recommend them to others.
Happy feet is a high-end retailer and depends on return customers. I will not be returning to the store.
